A flange is a method of connecting pipes, valves,pumps and other equipment to form a pipework systems. It is the machinery, pretroleum, chemical, water, electricty, shipbuilding sectors piping systems and devices most widely used pipe fittings. It is used to blank off the ends of piping, valves and pressure vessel opening. From the standpoint of internal piping spressure and bolt loading, blind flanges particularly in the larger sizes, are the most highly stressed of all flanges types. Blind flange is also used in the flange of the import and export of the equipment. Blind flange is also called blind plate, and its proper name is flange cover. It is a flange without holes in the middle for sealing the pipe plug.
